Deborah Irvine Anderson, author. (right) Authors write books. One day, when visiting a salmon farm Deborah had the idea to write a story about a blue salmon. She hoped it would help explain salmon farming to children. When she was a little girl, she always dreamed of writing a book, and now her dream has come true. Deborah was a journalist for 20 years with CBC Radio. Now, she’s an instructor at the New Brunswick Community College teaching writing and communications.

Kathy Kaufield, editor (middle) Editors make sure all the words in a book are correct. They help authors write their stories. Just like Deborah, Kathy was a journalist, too! She used to write stories for newspapers. Now she works with the Atlantic Canada Fish Farmers Association as a communications specialist. She helps people understand how salmon farms work.

Lindsay Vautor, illustrator (left) Illustrators draw all the pictures for books. She turned Sunny from a character in Deborah’s imagination into a character we can all see. Lindsay is a talented artist and graphic designer. Graphic designers work with companies and create pictures for advertising, publications and more. She has been working with ACFFA for many years. She also helps design a magazine called the [Edit].
